The illustration Friday topic this week is focused… and although not entirely on target, I am taking liberties with this subject, and displaying my renewed focus. It has been some time since I have done any animation in flash, and though I have always been an animation fan all the way back to the early 90s when I learned animator pro in college… I have never really been able to give it the full attention that I wanted… Now I will be doing some sort of animation or another for every drawing I do so that I can envelop myself in flash…. But still continue to work on my illustration at the same time…. This should be an interesting project…

PS:: If you dont buy all that as a reason to post this on illustration friday, then you leave me no choice… The envelopes are focused on filling up the mail box…. tadaaaaaaa!

Now I know what you are thinking…. Bread… he posts bread.. but some times it’s the little things that I notice, or feel proud of. In this case I drew the most amazing spot illustration of bread. This has to be by far the best bread I have ever drawn in vector form. I can feel its softness… I can taste the crumby, beady goodness…. to you its bread… to me… art!

The illustration Friday prompt this week is clumsy…. Anyone who knows me…. knows I am not the most skilled person in the world when it comes to being a handyman. Not that I am necessarily bad at it.. I just like to get into my work, and sometimes it doesn’t always turn out the way I want it. If I say a task at home will take a few minutes, and that it’s easy. That usually translates to a whole weekend trying to figure out why something isn’t working properly, and swearing a whole bunch. But I digress….

It has come to my attention that the red paint looked more like a bloody mess, so i changed it..

 

Early this morning a large hawk greeted us outside our office window. It didn’t seem to mind all its human spectators as it ate its breakfast on the concrete ledge around our building. In fact I think we were far more excited to see it then it was about whatever human things we were doing. At times it seemed as though we were the animals and the hawk had taken time out of its day to come view us in our natural habitat. Hell… it brought a snack with it. Even stopping to look in from time to time, just to see what craziness is going on inside… I grabbed our studio camera and got some awesome photos of it. At times a mere foot or two away from it as it ate. I think it was posing for some of the shots, but it was definitely a once in a lifetime up close and personal experience.

This week’s illustration Friday subject is wilderness… and though not exactly a lush green forest, a swamp is still a wilderness of sorts. A rotting, muck filled forest… corrupted by decaying, and un-natural life. Under the surface something lingers. Something with a foul intent, conjured to life with dark magic’s, and fairy dust.

Well it was a good year; I almost doubled my post count from the year before. So for 2010 I will aim to double 2009s post total.. I will accomplish this with illustration Friday posts, sketchbook posts and what ever else I find interesting in my everyday life…

Happy holidays…. For this illustration Friday subject (undone), I decided to go towards a more holiday themed piece, but in the end it still managed to freak out my wife. I pictured a morning theme with some toys bunched under a tree, decorated with lights and baubles… (I didn’t get to the tree and lights part) but my wife said the bear look disturbing because his eye is UNDONE and he has a big smile on his face…. So oh well… back to the drawing board…

Hey… never say I don’t maintain fairly loose boarders when it comes to subject matter…. Yes I draw zombies… yes I draw weird stuff….  But I can draw cute as well…. Sickly cute in this case. So I ether has multiple personalities (we count at least 3) or I choose to not dedicate myself to any one genre…

Just in time for the new illustration Friday subject.. the last weeks subject.. crunchy! I had actually started doing a digital painting on the subject, but have run low on time… so this will have to do! I thought what my favorite crunchy is… and cookies easily made number one… regardless of my current dietary regiment, I can always find caloric room for cookies… Some times no caloric room is available, but still the cookies fit into the diet some how. This probably has something to do with my need to be on a diet in the first place, but I digress…

Illustration friday this week is fast… and whats faster then a um, this thing? Well ill tell you what! Nothin! Thats what! I originally started this as a sketch for a different subject (flying) and finished off for this week just so I can post it… Any suggestions in naming it would be appreciated… Otherwise we will call it… flying thing!
